At HORSES.SALE, we understand the delicate balance sellers face when presenting their horses. On one hand, sellers want to maximize exposure and reach as many potential buyers as possible. On the other hand, excessive visibility—especially if a horse remains on the market for a long time—can create a negative impression for buyers. Additionally, dealing with “time-wasters” can consume valuable time and energy.
Private Sales. If this is the only selected option, the listing is not published publicly. Instead, the horse is offered only to a group of selected, verified buyers. In this case, HORSES.SALE acts as an intermediary and charges a commission of 2.5%–10% of the final sale price (depending on the horse’s value). You can also combine the Private Sales option with other settings. In that case, the horse will appear in the database while also being offered directly to selected clients.
Standard Listing (Database). This option provides a balance of broad reach with strong privacy. If selected, your horse:
– Is published in the HORSES.SALE private database
– Is shown to buyers who create search requests
– Protects your contact details, which are only visible to buyers with an active paid subscription
This ensures that every serious buyer searching for a horse like yours will see your listing, while casual browsers or time-wasters will not.
Extended Reach. Like the Standard Listing, your horse is shown in the paid database and appears in buyer search results. However, with this option:
– Your contact details are visible to free users as well
– We can additionally promote your horse on our Instagram page for greater visibility
Personal Page. With this option, your horse will appear on your own dedicated Personal Page at HORSES.SALE. You decide who to share the link with, giving you full control over who can view your listings. Read more about Personal Pages.
